I recently fell upon Russell & MacKenna fresh furniture. How cute is their stuff? Their pieces are bright and cheery, perfect for adding color to any room. Nautical Inspiration

So many people want the nautical feel when decorating, but rely too much on the obvious…anchors, sail boats, shells, knick-knacks and blue, blue and more blue…and over do it. Although it’s great for a little boy’s bedroom, the key to decorating an entire house is moderation, using only a few obvious accessories.

Lately I’ve been obsessed with the idea of grown-up nautical or “sophisticated nautical”. What is it? To me, it’s crisp white woodwork, trim and architectural details contrasted with a minimal, but bold pop of color. A mix of classic and modern furniture pieces and accessories, clean lines and natural elements.
